Camp Enterprise and Rotary
I spent the day today with high school students at Rotary's Camp Enterprise. What a blast! Today I got to speak the students about money. I showed them how student loans work. How compound interest works, what the true cost for an eduction is and how to pick a career that will pay their debt.
Six Rotary clubs have gotten together and brought students from all over the county together for 3 fun days of learning the skills to run a business. Yesterday they played a game where they got to run a factory and they competed for profits. Today they played a marketing game and tomorrow they will learn to negotiate with labour forces. In between the games they heard some very amazing speakers.
One of the highlights was Chris Magwood from The Endeavour Centre in Peterborough. Chris was one of the first people in Ontario to build straw bale houses.
