💜 MLP Gen 5 Rewrite 💜
The first stop on our journey to redesign My Little Pony Gen 5 is none other than the famous Maretime Bay! (A.K.A., the only location I genuinely liked in the movie 😅).
• I kept it mostly the same with a few minor changes
• I also really like the idea of a seaside location for Gen 5, so I played that up a little more in the story.
• Starting off, Maretime Bay is the biggest import/export Bay in all of Equestria, often shipping food and other essentials to the other pony kinds
• Hardwork and Integrity are the backbones of Bay with most Earth Ponies priding themselves on being good, honest ponies
• It's because of this Earth Ponies tend to look down on unicorns and Pegasi believing most to be lazy or manipulative
• They are weary about the use of magic, pefering to do things the simple/traditional way
• The town mayor Phyllis Cloverleaf shares a similar view, believing it to be dangerous and that Maretime Bay is better off separated from the rest of Equestria
• The most iconic feature in the Bay is the Lavender Lighthouse used to warn of incoming threats and danger to the harbor
Resident List:
- Phyllis Cloverleaf
- Sunny Starscout
- Sprout Cloverleaf
- Minty Cloverleaf
(I think I'm going to do a separate post describing the characters on a little more detail, cause I don't want to overwhelm you guys.
NATG XIV - Day 10
Prompt: Draw a pony feeling out of place / Draw a pony feeling right at home.
Semi-continuation of my Day 5 piece; this time, Sunny's mom returns home to find that the exterior of her old home has changed significantly. And that's just the beginning of the story...
(Most of my time with this piece was spent on the Brighthouse, as you might expect. I might continue this story if another prompt provides for it.)
Day 5 piece:
The Slovak My Little Pony YouTube channel has been updated with this adorable winter holiday-themed banner! The banner will probably be added to the other official MLP YouTube channels in the near future.
Batpony (Misty Lily) in Maretime Bay (Commission) _____________

Another (more thought out) theory surrounding Gen 5′s cities and their relation to Gen 4′s map of Equestria.
CW SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
In the upper right hand side of Sunny’s map we can see an apple which seems to be a reference to Appleloosa.
Maretime Bay is now what was Horseshoe bay (years of corrosion must have altered the shape of the land)
It only makes sense Bridlewood is somewhere between Maretime Bay and Zephyr Heights so I feel Hollow Shades is the only logical place... But that doesn’t explain why there are so many crystals found in Bridlewood.
Zephyr Heighs has to be Rainbow Falls. The flat landscape looks exactly like what we see in the new movie (only more built up of course) and it makes sense pegasi would migrate there as it’s relatively high up, mimicking being up in the sky like Cloudsdale, but still on the ground as they weren’t able to fly.
AS FOR CANTERLOT/PONYVILLE:
I feel like the shot we see with Sunny and Izzy at night, facing a steep mountain is actually a SIDESHOT we cant actually see where Canterlot is as the mountain blocks the view. This means we have no idea what Canterlot looks like now. It could be vaporized, or it could just be in ruins like The Castle of The Two Sisters was. (I’m really hoping it’s the latter at least)
I still have a deep gut feeling the pink tree in the flower field has something to do with the tree of Harmony/ Twilight’s Castle and even though the placement doesn’t make much sense I know for a fact the Tree of Harmony had it’s ways of making it’s presence known wherever it was needed.
G5 Locations and Associated Traumas: Maretime Bay
I really liked the locations of the G5 movie and how they told a lot about each pony society and how they dealt with losing their connection with other pony-types!
Mare-Time Bay (earth ponies)
Aesthetic: Tourist town
Societal Issue: fear, xenophobia
Mare-Time Bay has a small town feel with friendly, brightly colored buildings. Their tech falls into two categories: practical (street car, electric lights) or defensive (CanterLogic) to protect the townsfolk from the “threat” of unicorns and pegasi. Notably, the CanterLogic products are quite advanced while technology has otherwise stagnated. The CanterLogic building looms over the rest of the town, dominating it. Maretime Bay was probably a tourist town in ages past, but the days of welcoming outsiders are long gone.
There’s mistrust between all the pony tribes, but the Earth ponies are particularly terrified of other ponies. They worry constantly about being invaded, wasting their money on “anti-pegasus periscopes”, installing unicorn traps, and putting up propaganda posters to remind themselves that other ponies are the Enemy.
They are ignorant, but their ignorance is willful. They could have listened to Argyle (and later Sunny) but that would mean confronting their day-to-day problems (”you may not have a bale of hay to borrow or you’re saddled with your sorrow or you’re scared about tomorrow”) instead of constantly clutching their pearls over a bigger but ultimately imaginary threat.
They are also incentized to feed their fear because it has become their industry; CanterLogic probably employees most of the town. (”Think what they could do to the status quo! Oh no!” Sprout and Phyllis sing.)
So the Earth ponies form an angry mob to “protect themselves” from other ponykinds. But at the end of the day who damages Maretime Bay?
Sprout destroys a little filly’s dollhouse while claiming other ponykinds are destructive.
The Earth pony mob knocks over the smoothie stand, upturns tables, and leave garbage everywhere.
The mecha built at CanterLogic knocks over the trolley and destroys the lighthouse.
The Earth ponies’ greatest foe was fear itself.
