I wasn't in the Avatar fandom when TLOK came out so I don't know if the fandom's perception of it changed overtime or if its always been like this, but all the posts I see on TLOK are like:
"Korra ruined Aang's legacy! I hate her! Grr!!!"
Which is funny because all the posts I'm seeing on Seven Havens are:
"Pavi ruined Korra's legacy! I hate her! Grr!!!"
And now I'll I can think of is Bo Burnham and that song 1985.
"I don't mean to lump a group of people in a hive I think I just met my dad in 1985."
Yeah, no but I do really feel like I just time traveled somehow. Like how did we end up here?
I just realized all the Avatars we know before Pavi add up to equal seven:
- Wan
- Yangchen
- Kuruk
- Kyoshi
- Roku
- Aang
- Korra
*Note not counting Szeto, Gun, or the new Avatar that's supposed to appear in the adult Gaang movie
If we're going with the theory that Pavi does reconnect with her past lives it would make a lot sense if the seven havens were places related to the past Avatars.
Like Korra's haven could be some remment of the United Republic, we could get one of air temples for Aang or Yangchen, and so on.
It's far-fetched and probably not gonna happen but definitely interesting and something to think about imo.
Asami: Took on a waterbending protégé after the cataclysm. Ends up being the new team waterbender.
Airbender Kids: I'm thinking at least one of them has to survive. In order:
1. Jinora - plays the largest role in TLOK and there's that theory Jae is her descendant of some kind. (Also opens up the possibility of seeing some Kainora 👀)
2. Rohan - the youngest character giving the writers the most freedom with him story-wise.
3. Meelo - memorable personality and if the leaks are to be believed could be the leader of some kind of airbender militia.
4. Ikki - As much as I love her she doesn't stand out as much as her siblings so I have the feeling she's not making it.
Mako/Bolin: I've already made a joking post about why Mako might be alive, but I don't think Bolin will. His main development was as a comic relief character and while he was a part of Team Avatar there are more impactful characters I feel like they could tell the story with. Even if he is alive I doubt Opal will be. (If she's even mentioned at all.)
*Note: This does of course depend on how big the time skip is from Korra to Pavi but these are the most intriguing to me IMO.
I've recently started to realize most of my favorite scented products are vanilla and/or coconut stuff. So naturally this sent me down a rabbit hole if what I think the Class 1B girls would smell like!
Itsuka Kendo - Has an ocean beachy kinda smell. I see her using mostly unscented products though.
Yui Kodai - Dark chocolate, cinnamon, and a hint of sandlewood. Think winter night cozyed up the fireplace vibes.
Kinoko Komori - Smells faintly of citrus fruit and lavender. Very pleasant to be around.
Ibara Shiozaki - Smells like fresh rain and Eucalyptus. Takes on a more earthy scent when gardening in the spring.
Pony Tsunotori - Pink bubblegum. Only pink. Nothing else.
Setsuna Tokage - Has a bunch of perfumes and scents can't decide. (She tried to mix them all together once but it just gave everybody a headache.)
Reiko Yanagi - Faint scent of vanilla. What? Did you expect her to smell creepy too?
Please! Please! Let this leak be true! Pretty Please!
16 episodes instead of 13 would be a dream especially in this shortened seasons day and age. It would also give us time to actually develop and get attached to the characters something which I feel newer shows tend to struggle with.
You have no idea how happy this would make especially with the leaks of it being renewed for two more seasons.
It's probably unlikely but a girl can dream, right?
Mind you its not like I'm a big Mako fan or anything. In fact, I don't really care for him at all. I just think it'd be funny.
Like the fandom expects Pavi to get spiritual guidance from Jinora or have a heartfelt union with Asami.
Nope just Mako.
If Avatar Studios wanted to have even more fun?
Make one of Mako's kids join team Avatar. Like they're some of the first people we meet.
We don’t meet anyone else. Everyone else is dead. It's just Mako.
I don't even know what he would do for Pavi's journey as the Avatar or in general. I just wanna him to be there.
"Why?" You ask.
Why not? 🤷♀️
He meets Pavi and instead of some sweet heartfelt welcome back or whatever she just makes some one off snarky comment about Mako being a jerk and he's like "yep, you're Korra's reincarnation alright."
Bonus: There's also this scene
And it would be kinda cute if it were true in some way. He followed her through not just an apocalypse but into her next life. Not necessarily romantic or anything just cute.
Idea I had recently about the seven havens: What they're based off of element fusions instead of singular elements?
We've kind of already seen this a little bit in the series with Republic City & Mako and Bolin having both earth kingdom and fire nation heritage. So I think this concept on a more gobal worldbuilding scale could be interesting.
You would have nations like:
Air/Water
Water/Earth
Earth/Fire
Air/Earth
Water/Fire
Fire/Air
Maybe the 7th haven could be something for spirits or non-benders?
You could even haven bending styles being distinct mixes of the original martial arts we see in ATLA. Honestly, I already have some ideas at for what these could look like. Let me know if you guys wanna hear about them!
The only problem I can think of is we're even less likely to use old locations in the new series but if the world building is good I don’t think that's that much of a problem.
Sadly, She-Ra did get taken off Netflix a few days ago, but I did manage to finish before it was removed completely! (I'm sure people will still find away to pirate or keep it alive someway, but I'm still sad 😓) The main thing that inspired these adorable babies though is my favorite and somehow one of the most sidelined ships of the fandom: Glimbow 💖💜💘
So with that being said....
Presenting the new heirs of Bright Moon: Princess Nebula and Prince Arrow!
Character profiles below the cut:
Name: Nebula
Gender: Cis-Girl (She/Her)
Age: 16-17
Titles: Princess of Bright Moon (everyone), Little Star (Glimmer & Bow), Neb (Arrow)
Personality:
- frustrates/angers easily (especially when it involves Arrow)
- always looking out for others & very protective of her loved ones
- sometimes gets over-involved in the problems of others
Notes:
- practices her magic a lot but her actual hand-to-hand combat could use some work
- her favorite things to talk about are space + plus her parents old adventures (spends a lot of time with Entrapta)
She looks a lot like Bow and shares his affinity for crop tops, but personality wise she tends to take more after her mother. She fearless and brave but is a bit of nag when it comes to her little brother. She dreams of aiding her mom in the new interplantary council founded after the War.
Name: Arrow
Gender: Trans-Guy (uses He/Him)
Age: 13-14
Titles: Prince of Bright Moon (everyone), Arrow Boy Jr. (Nebula)
Personality:
- skips out on royal lessons in favor of goofing off
- follows his sister on her adventures (she doesn't invite him but he comes along anyways)
- runs away from his problems
Notes:
- came out 1 year prior to story's beginning (obvs accepted with open arms)
- magic comes easily to him and he does archery with Bow in his spare time
- unsure about his future in life and feels pressured to have it all figured out
Arrow is Nebula's little brother and the second child of Glimmer and Bow although he has no interest in his parent's crown. He isn't sure what he wants to do with his life and uses his playful and carefree demeanor to hide all the pressure he feels to live up to his family legacy. Especially from his "perfect" sister who seems to have her life all figured out.
I don’t really see the purpose in people giving up things for Lent. More specifically I don't see the point in giving up things like food.
Now I am not Catholic however, I am Christian and attended a religious school for most of my high school years. So while I myself don't celebrate Lent I've watched/participated in a lot of activities that do.
Whenever I was in school the teachers used to push that whatever we gave up for Lent had to be something that was taking up time spent away from God.
For a lot of people, this meant giving up social media, spending time in his creation, etc.
Even for things people couldn't really just give up entirely there were alternatives. Instead of spending two hours at the gym try 1 and 1/2. Switch normal fantasy books out for short Bible studies.
But whenever I hear people talking about Lent online it always seems like their just giving up some random food. (Meat, chocolate, soda.)
And I'm not shaming anyone by saying you can't give those things up for Lent or that they're not good enough. God accepts you as you are and only you know your relationship with him.
But people need to start thinking about why they're actually giving up something for Lent.
There's a difference between a spiritual commitment and crash diet, and while there's no shame in trying to improve your health, I can't help but think for some people its just a new year's resolution do-over.
Okay so I haven't posted in a while but I'm one of the many people out for snow days so it works in my favor!
So let's talk about something I'm excited for when it comes to Seven Havens: Pavi and Nisha's relationship!
One thing Atla/Tlok has never let us down with is sibling relationships. For example, Katara and Sokka, Zuko and Azula, Lin and Suyin, etc.
So the idea of the new protagonists being twin Avatars in a world that hates them? You cannot tell me that is not an interesting (if angsty) setup!
If Pavi is growing up homeless and Nisha is growing up in the White Lotus, that means they had to be separated young right? Was it by force? Choice? Accident? Pavi is missing a leg.
Or were they even younger? Do they even know of each other's existence?
So much storytelling and drama potential. I approve. 👍🏾
But I also want some comedic/wholesome moments as well.
The twins arguing absolute nonsense in the middle of a fight scene.
Jae probably having to break them up too. Or maybe he's also an instigator of sorts. That would be pretty fun too.
Ah, yes the world is ending and humanity's fate rests in the capability of three bickering children. We are definitely not doomed 🤣
I've been thinking....what if we're viewing this cataclysm thing all wrong? Most theories I've seen about the cataclysm are some big singular event that just wipes out everything.
But if it was less of large bang and more of a slowly creeping destruction?
It happens during Korra's lifetime. Energy Storms form over small villages and empty forests unfolding outwards. Cities become in uninhabitable and spirits flee for refuge, but the storms keep coming.
Maybe this could even be when some of the Havens start being built. Maybe others don't come until years after.
Korra investigates the source of the disaster. She travels into the spirit world.
She never comes out.
Energy Storms ignite rapidly, tearing through the planet faster than ever before. The Poles melt. Volcanos explode turning the Fire Nation to ash. The Earth Kingdom quakes and tremors shaking it to its core. Air Temples are blocked off by self sustaining tornados.
City-wide evacuations happen.
Less than half survive.
The world learns to run from a danger that can follow you anywhere.
They blame Korra-the Avatar.
Details of her story are lost to time but message remains the same.
