OC HALLOWEEN 2025 ➜ foxhole (2000, dir. ken delias)
When Margo Fox goes to sleep, she's in her best friend's car, getting ready to ride off into the sunset and start their new adventure. When she wakes, she's in the hospital - the only survivor of a fatal car crash. She can't believe it. The last thing she remembers is Oz, sitting in the driver's seat, laughing at some joke she made, telling her to get some shut-eye; he'd wake her when they stopped. The next, he's... gone. Just like that. After crying for hours, she eventually drifts off into a peaceful sleep... and then wakes in Oz's car as he pulls into a pitstop parking lot just off I-15. Margo's double life continues, every time she closes and opens her eyes. In one world, Buffy consoles her through the pain; in another, she and Oz take the first steps in their tentative relationship. This is different from her typical delusions; different, even, from the ghosts who whisper in her ear. She knows if she told someone, they'd brush it off as a schizophrenic episode, maybe even institutionalize her again. But she knows what her illness feels like. She knows how to deal with it, what signs to look out for. And she knows it's nothing like this. Not this vivid. Not this real. With no idea who to trust or what to do, it's up to Margo to figure out what's wrong with her. Before someone else finds her out instead - and sends her packing, straight back to Sunnydale Asylum.
