When Kallen bumped into the beautiful woman, she thought for a moment she was back in Japan, and that she had come across Britannian nobility. She pushed down the urge to scowl at this woman and instead bowed slightly, inclining her head downward. It was incredible how much she looked like the massacre princess; the princess she had once been ordered to kill.
But it wasn’t; the Britannians were not here. She had to remind herself that to many of these people, Britannia had never existed, and might never, and Japan had never been overtaken by anyone at all. And so she had no reason to hate this woman, as she at first had the instinct to.
“Pardon me,” she mumbled. “I wasn’t looking where I was going.”
