Christmas spirit
Chloe Bourgeois stood stiffly outside her classroom's doors as she held a small bag full of presents behind her back.
The bell rang not a second to late as the door burst opens before Kim launched out of the room in a blur, the others following close behind them, their eyes sparkling with excitement for the upcoming holidays.
The blonde shifted nervously as she kept an eye out for a mop of blue-black hair. She kept looking back and forth between the door and the stairs, having second thoughts on her Oh-so kind peace offering to Marinette Dupain-Cheng.
Finally a flash of a white shirt with a black blazer caught Chloe's attention and her body went to auto-pilot.
Chloe scoffed as she rudely blocked the doorway, her eyes narrowing as she stared haughty at the slightly annoyed girl in front of her.
"Can I help you with anything?" Marinette said in a clipped tone, her happy mood quickly evaporating at the sour look Chloe directed at her.
Said girl only scoffed again as she flipped her blonde hair over her shoulder, placing a tanned hand on her waist; Chloe prepared all the insults she could throw at the impatient girl in front of her when she noticed the unusually heavy bag dangling from her elbows.
Chloe went bright red with embarrassment when she realized she just destroyed the mood. She awkwardly blanched as she tried to save grace before coughing forcibly to get Marinette's attention.
The ravenette only arched an eyebrow at the odd display of awkwardness of her usually proud classmate. Chloe could only put her bag in between her and Marinette; effectively catching the attention of the blue-eyed teen.
"Um-Chloe? What-"
"I'm sorry"
Chloe blurted out suddenly surprising Marinette as she handed the teen a small box wrapped clumsily in blue and pink wrappings.
"I know I wasn't the bestest of classmate you could have had but I wanted to make amends" Chloe rasped out quickly, her face red and eyes brimming with uncharacteristic honesty.
Chloe bit her lip once again as she stiffly forced the present to Marinette's frozen arms.
"It's just that some things has happened recently and I realized it's about time I change"
Marinette could only watched dumfounded as Chloe gave her a small sincere smile, totally unlike the mocking smirks she received the past. Before she knew it a horrified gasp escaped her as she squeezed the present in her arms, effectively upsetting the blonde in front of her.
Chloe felt her face burn in embarrassment at the rude reaction of Marinette to her rare display to humility, she huffed slightly before quickly spinning on her heel; it doesn't matter whether the girl accepted her truce, at least she tried but even as tried she convince herself that it's fine, she still felt the unshed tears pile up in her eye lids.
But before she could take a step away from the frozen ravenette, she immediately felt herself spin around roughly as a hand tightly grasped her wrist.
A surprised gasp escaped her a small bundle of yellow fell out her purse. Marinette flushed as she watched Chloe stare at her in confusion before panic soon shone in her eyes as the blonde sneered at her in annoyance.
"What did you want to laugh at my face? Well look Dupain-Cheng, I wanted to make peace not fight so I would appreciate if you let go before I lose my patience"
"Thank you" Marinette could only croak out her thanks before running out the room, her eyes still on her blonde classmate.
"I don't have a present for you but thank you" Marinette yelled out in a haze as she ran down the stairs, still confused why she was panicking at the prospect of her former tormentor turning over a new leaf.
"Truce?" Marinette heard Chloe yell out from their classroom as she reached the 1st floor. Her lips forming a small smile.
"Truce"
