This is Marin Brooks, first of generation 3 and has run away from home a week before her YA birthday, wanted to get away from her famous family and all the pressure of being heir...leaving her little brother, Blaz Brooks, with no choice but being the heir. No one knows she is in Sulani, not her military uncle (no satellites here) and no contacts for them to squeeze to find her. Her mother and father live in Del Sol Valley. Marin knew her birthday was coming soon, so she saved up what little she had to treat herself to a cake. She was happy her birthday was here so she was truly an adult, but she missed her family. Her little brother...her mom and dad...her cousins and uncle and aunt. They should be here, she thought. But they weren’t. So she pretended they were, smiled, and transitioned into adulthood!
