MarineLives is a collaborative volunteer driven project dedicated to the collaborative transcription, linkage and enrichment of primary manuscripts from the English High Court of Admiralty, 1650-1669 (with some excursions into data from the 1630s and 1640s).
This is the most remarkable resource I’ve found, ever?? Why are there not a million websites like this for a million different periods, focuses, etc.??? This is going to make writing historical fiction of the era so much fun!!
There is a ‘Bad behaviour & Invective at Sea’ page... a ton of ‘semantic biographies’ of just normal people... a list of ‘Inns, Taverns, and Victualling Houses’... a list of occupations... soooo much coool stuffff
