El poder de las palabras no reside en las historias que contamos, sino en la capacidad que tenemos de conectar con los corazones de los que las leen.

📚 The Librarian of Saint-Malo by Mario Escobar
World War II stories is pretty much my favorite book and movie genre. I don’t think I can even count how many I’ve read and/or watched. I really loved this book, and I actually learned a lot from it, too. I had never heard of Saint-Malo before reading this book, but now that I know the name I’ve seen it a lot in other WWII books set in France. This book was very touching and very nerve wracking. I like books that make me think about the Germans who weren’t Nazis, the ones who had been lied to and were just trying to defend their country. I know it’s hard to imagine that there were any good Germans with all that happened by German hands during World War II, but there were some. This book was slow at points, but once the story got going, it was hard to put down. I would definitely recommend it.
