Have you ever heard of Finale Notepad? It's essentially a reduced version of Finale, but also free. It can't change key or time signature mid-piece and there is an 8 instrument limit, but as a casual composer/arranger/student, I really haven't found it limiting. I also (personally) find it much easier to use than MuseScore, plus it'll be a much easier transition between amateur and professional Finale.

I have! I actually used it for a long time - I only started using musescore last year. I totally forgot about it though, I'll add it to the list.

To the last anon: (Of course I'll be biased towards music) but I don't think you should decide on a major simply for job opportunities. You need to weigh the pros and cons about each major with your teachers and parents. I Don't know what research you've done, but I don't want you masking a decision based on Tumblr asks. What facets of engineering/music do you like? Is there some ultimate goal you have for either? Are they just hobbies? Will you be able to take it to the next level?

Also to that anon that wanted to go after music that I told to become an engineer instead.

Fantastic advice. This ask asks the questions that I should have answered with. I just answered with the first impetuous thing that came to mind and it shows. 

I also hope that that anon knows that my word is definitely not the last. This is not my decision to make, I’m just a kid behind a computer. It’s your life, anon, and while you should listen to what people have to say, it should ultimately absolutely be your decision.

To the anon worried about learning violin or cello: Don't freak out! I'm a cellist, but I taught myself how to play the oboe when I was a junior in high school. All I had was a plastic oboe, a cheap reed, and Essential Elements. By the time I was a senior, I was playing first on everything. Learning a new instrument is DEFINITELY doable if you put the effort into it! (PS, play cello, it's cooler :) )

Hey, I'm asking you (or your followers) if you have a copy of the Stravinsky "Suite Italienne" for cello or Shostakovich's Cello Sonata. I have pdf copies, but I wanted a physical copy for my pianist. But I ACCIDENTALLY ORDERED THE WRONG PIECES AND SHE'S LEAVING TOMORROW. If anyone has a pdf copy of either piece (for cello!) that they'd be willing to send to me, I would be greatly appreciative!

I wasn't able to find anything (because they're both still under copyright, most sites I use for non-pop music weren't helpful) but maybe one of my followers has a copy?
