A Blast From the Past - Country Home Exploration
Set on a hilltop over looking oak trees and an adorable red barn in the small town of Mariposa, California, this home is the perfect example of charming country living. We built this home back in 2005, and it was such a pleasure to return and visit years later.
Upon my arrival owner, Channa greeted me with a welcoming smile as I pulled into the drive. She kindly gave me a tour around her home.
Curious sheep watched as I explored the property with Channa, listening to her stories of building her home and enjoying the natural landscape. Chickens scattered as we approached the little red barn complete with a unique elephant weather vane set with pride on top. Maple trees, a vegetable garden set off to the side of the home and fresh strawberries ready to be picked added to the authentic country feel.
Channa reminisced over stories of working with Dave Lawson, owner of Lawson Construction to design the small red barn she loves so much. The humble design turned out perfect for her needs and the family of sheep are right at home. Channa smiled as she shared stories about her home and all the amazing family visits and good times well spent under its roof. It truly is her dream home.
It's stories like this that make us so happy to build homes. What a wonderful experience it was to return and see how the house we built had become a home.
