Guardian of Transylvania Monthly Report
Another month has passed. This time with a few new developments:
It appears that not only is Aleera very much roaming the Carpathian landscape, but so too are her sisters, Verona and Marishka. I spotted them talking on a cliff in the forest 2 nights ago. They were discussing plans for All Hallows' Eve.
I must admit, through all the stories I heard of them, I expected the Brides to be talking about draining the blood of humans and talking about it with glee. Instead, I found myself surprised at their talk of wanting to spend a few nights in Budapest mingling with the locals.
Well, at least Verona and Marishka were. Aleera seemed to be lost in thought. It was most strange, I always heard Aleera was the most vicious and bloodthirsty of all the Brides. Maybe she was when she was alive, but it seems the past decade has not been kind to her.
And especially considering our last observation of her, she seems more reflective, more soft, perhaps, even a touch regretful of her past sins?
However, their conversation was interrupted by a mysterious masked man. He approached them without much fear, despite the three hissing and baring their fangs at him.
He introduced himself as an assistant of Dr. Alphonse Moreau, and handed them a letter.
From what I was able to gather from their aloud reading, Moreau expressed interest in wanting to travel to Vaseria to meet with them, and form some sort of agreement or alliance.
What happened next surprised me more than anything
The masked man addressed Aleera by name, and told her the Doctor had given him a message to pass to her specifically
"Vergüenza".
Aleera appeared to brush it off, but I could clearly see that one word seemed to rattle her.
Verona told him they would consider the offer, before all three transformed and took flight.
I almost got my stupid ass caught when the man walked back through the forest. Thankfully I managed to take shelter behind a large fallen tree. He then pulled out what looked like a shortwave radio and began to make contact with his master
"Did you get the letter to the Brides?"
"Yes, Doctor. They'll consider the offer."
"Excellent... And what about the redhead? Did you give her the message?"
"I did."
"And how did she take it?"
"She tried to dismiss it, but I could see it in her eyes. I think it might've rattled her. Doctor, I know it's not my place to ask, but I am damn curious, why Aleera specifically?"
"Because I know her. And the kid asked me to. Now, all we have to do is wait until we get a response. And then, we strike."
