You HAVE TO have a maritozzo when in Rome. And if you can, take a taxi to the "maritozzaro" (Profili Caffé) ... its not walking distance from anything ... Its delicious and loved by the locals, but if you don't want to venture to the periphery, by all means, don't miss an opportunity to eat a traditional Roman maritozzo. . Hardly sweet, bread-like, dough. Sliced in half to accommodate a deliciously barely sweet hand made whole cream whipped cream center. That's it. It is SO delicious 😍 .
