Costume designs by the Motley Group for the ITV series The Scarlet Pimpernel (1955) starring Marius Goring as Sir Percy Blakeney/The Scarlet Pimpernel. Some of them appear to be for episodes that were never made i.e. The Gaol Delivery and An English Gold Piece. There were in all 18 episodes filmed and broadcast and apparently there were plans to film more but the budget was slashed from £3500 to £2000 per episode and no more were produced. This was the first TV drama series broadcast on the brand new commercial network ITV in the UK. What a shame! mariusgoring.com
