An alternate meeting au, Todd Brotzman is brought into Blackwing custody as a suspected and potential project, the supervisors (Riggins and a really complex original character) decided that introducing Project Icarus and Todd could have beneficial reactions. Includes adorable depictions of Dirk hiding under beds, playing Clue with Todd (and guessing the murderer, murder weapon and location every time) and a beautifully sad scene depicting Dirk’s first time outside
I couldn’t stop reading this, on the bus, at school, at ungodly hours of the day, I mean wow!! I really loved the depiction of Blackwing, and the relationship between Riggins and Dirk, especially the slow character development with Todd and Dirk. I am sooo glad I stumbled across this fic, it seemed highly realistic as to what I assumed happened in Blackwing with Dirk. The ending scared me, because I thought things were going to end badly but I’m incredibly happy with how things turned out it was bitter sweet and very hopeful.
