this is gonna be a weird question, but you seem to be really good at au's and stuff, so i'm going to ask: in a femlock verse, who do you think would play molly hooper?? (or mark hooper, or matthew hooper or whatever). just curious!!

Hmm interesting. Alright, well my headcanons for my own personal ‘femlock’ verse are known to be as follows:

So a while ago, Edie linked me over to some translock she found, because of course as a trans person I am automatically invested in and can relate to all trans things ever.* And this morning I read it and did not enjoy it at all (sorry author! I found your writing style sort of clunky and bland! You seemed like an alright dude but I could not get into it, and some of it sort of read as a Trans 101 primer which is very valid and necessary but not really something I want mixed with my porn!).

And I told her (over texting, because she insists on going into work like it is her JOB) and we mourned a tiny mourning together, and then I said, "Well, if you want something done right, do it yourself."

And she said "YES YES DO THAT"

And I said "No, I don't think I really would—writing cisporn(TM) is bad enough, if I wrote porn with trans men everyone would give me the eyebrow raise of "well that is specific" and make assumptions, and I don't—oh god, MOLLY AS A TRANS MAN      MOLLY AS THE TINIEST OF TRANS MEN"

And, guys, I know the sherlock fandom has got SO FEW women, and I have a terrible suspicion that making one of them trans is going to be met with accusations of misogyny, and I do not know, guys, I have no excuse, Mark is just so cute and I want to touch his doubly-fictional face. 

Anyway then we started going back and forth about Mark and who he was and what he does and, well, she said if I was not going to write it then she was. 

And then we sat down tonight and watched the first episode of Sherlock and co-wrote this (which involved a lot of "that is not the word I mean" "what? yes it is!" "that word does not mean what you think it means!" and also watermelon sherbet) and I have got no regrets

Anyway the reason this post is so long is because I typed it while waiting for her to put it up on AO3, and now she has, SO HERE
