A MAGA lawyer has dramatically returned to working on behalf of the Jan. 6 rioters soon after news of Donald Trump’s $1.8 billion slush fund emerged.

Mark McCloskey, best known for pointing his gun at Black Lives Matter protesters outside his St. Louis home in 2020, has spent more than a year trying to secure compensation from the government for those who stormed the Capitol in 2021.

In April, McCloskey announced in a letter to his Jan. 6 clients that “due to personal reasons, I am unable to continue this fight at this time” and that the claims would instead be handled by lawyer Peter Ticktin, with whom he had teamed up on the Capitol riot cases.

They're attacking Alex Pretti for having a gun. But here are some famous moments when Trump and the right treated armed protesters like hero

Between Homeland Security officials like Kristi Noem falsely stating that Pretti was “brandishing” a weapon, and Stephen Miller ridiculously calling him an “assassin” who was trying to kill ICE officials, you would think Pretti had committed his own murder. In fact, in response to Pretti’s killing, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent went on ABC’s ‘This Week’ to say of his own past protest attendance: “I didn’t bring a gun. I brought a billboard.” Everybody say, ‘Thank You, Scott’ for that contribution. Donald Trump’s FBI Director Kash Patel falsely claimed on Fox News: “You cannot bring a firearm, loaded, with multiple magazines to any sort of protest that you want. It’s that simple. You don’t have a right to break the law.” It’s a change of tune from the GOP. Because, below, from Zeteo, are seven instances in which right-wing protesters have brought far more dangerous weapons than a billboard to a protest, to the resounding praise of conservative lawmakers and media personalities, who even turned some of these armed protesters into heroes and martyrs.

I have a very angry and distressed joke:

Let's getting something straight. Don't tack on a story like that to make it seem like you're doing something right. One story is not every story. Which I guess is what people were saying "Mark isn't like every other white person because not every person holds a gun up to protesters that are on their lawn like Mark does."
