Self defense is a must..
Self-defense lessons with Jason Todd ✮⋆˙
𝜗ৎ tags/tw: short & sweet, fluff, slice of life, banter, not proofread ও˖ ࣪⊹ pairing: jason todd x f!reader 𝜗ৎ a/n: guys i've been super unmotivated to finish this series, but i swearrr i'll try to get the last part before easter. also!! would anyone be interested in a bonus part with Jason and reader getting married? i've thought about that, but idrk, i also plan on starting a new series as soon as i'm done with this one, and i'm really excited for that!! ─ ⊹ ‧₊ Series mlist
There were about ten other things you could think about doing other than what you were doing right now. Jason got it in his head that you were as defenceless as a small puppy, so you needed to be taught some self-defense.
“Baby, seriously, can’t we do this some other time?”
“You’ve said that the past four times I’ve tried to teach you something.” He was standing in the middle of your living room, which was now arranged to look like a training room. You groaned softly, at least you could ravage in the sight of his muscles bulging any time he showed you a new move. Jason clapped his hands to start and then grabbed a gun from under the couch.
"Anyone ever breaks in, first thing you do is grab the nearest gun. Remember you know our place better than the intruder, use that to your advantage.”
“..Did you actually hide a gun in every division of our house?”
“Of course I did. I have so many, it’s only natural they’re used to your protection.”
“Jay, I have no idea how to use a gun. Or even how to hold one for that matter.”
“That’s exactly why we’re doing this right now! Okay so first, you need to space out your legs a bit…” He was showing you how to properly stand and how to hold the gun, but your brain was turning into mush. You knew this was important… Buut you were so tired from your shift, and Jason looked so good.. You felt like a Victorian man seeing ankles for the first time.
“And then when you get the aim right… Are you even listening right now?”
You bit your lip and nodded. “Yes…”
He sighed heavily. “What did I just say then?”
“Space out your legs to feel secure and then aim?”
Jason pinched the bridge of his nose before placing the gun on the couch, and then he got into a fighting stance. “Okay. Let’s try something else. Take me down.”
The will to laugh was stronger than you, but you managed to contain it and only let out a small giggle. “No way I’ll be able to do that.”
He smiled fondly despite himself. “I want to see what your first approach would be to see what we’re working with.”
You tried to mimic his fighting stance. “I should probably warn you we’re now working with much.”
“Yeah, ma, I can tell.”
Despite your lack of skills, you tried to do what you saw in those self-defense reels and in the movies. Well… as soon as you lunged, he had you pinned against him, you could tell he was being way more gentle with you than he ever was while actually fighting, but his gentleness was still much stronger than you. Using the size difference to your advantage, you twisted in his grip so you were facing his chest and then crouched and crawled under his legs. Jason burst out laughing at that, and you seized that opportunity to lunge at his back, which resulted in the two of you tumbling to the floor. He managed to fall on his back to also support your fall.
You were now panting on top of him. “So, how’d I do?”
Jason tucked a piece of stray hairs behind your ear. “Well, I think you’d definitely win against a really drunk attacker.”
That got a long dramatic groan out of you, and you laid your head on his chest. “I’m not good at this, Jay.”
“Yes, I know. Which is exactly why I need to give you some training.”
“You’re being paranoid.”
His hand was comfortingly soothing back your hair. “Maybe. But I prefer being paranoid over ever losing you and then know I didn’t do enough to protect you.”
Damn him and his sweet words.
“Fine… But let me rest first.”

A pair of women's gloves from 1850s London
designed with a secret purpose - self-defense. Made during the Victorian era, it features a hidden blade or spike, allowing the wearer to protect herself in a discreet yet effective manner.
I don't like that I need to consider it more and more these days.
