Join us as we count down to the 13th annual Oxford Film Festival by getting to know our filmmakers a bit more with our Take 5 series. Meet Mark Potts, director of Spaghettiman.
#1: In 140 characters or less, describe your movie and why someone should see it.
SPAGHETTIMAN is our next big superhero. He's like Iron Man and Spider-Man had a kid, abandoned it in an alley and was raised by angry hobos.
#2: Biggest lesson learned in getting the film made? Best part in getting the film made?
Preparing to shoot is more important than the shoot.
#3: Tell us about you. What is your movie making background?
I am part of Heckbender, the comedy team behind SPAGHETTIMAN. Our video, "How to Talk to Kids About Michael Sam" went viral and was featured on Huffington Post, Sports Illustrated, YouTube, and Slate. This is our first feature film as a team. I directed THE STANTON FAMILY GRAVE ROBBERY, which played Oxford, I think, 90ish years ago?
#4 What do you want the Oxford Film Festival audience to know about your film that isn't obvious from its title or description?
They need to know if they attend, they need to wear extra belts because this film is going to blow their fucking pants off.
#5: What does the future hold in store for your film and for you?
Depends on which future you want to believe in. In one future, the film is a huge success and leads us to our next feature, a $200 million remake of CITIZEN KANE. In the other future, I lose everything and live on the streets.
There is no in between.

Community members Mark Potts and Brand Rackley make an awesome short about Michael Sam.
Michael Sam was recently drafted by the St. Louis Rams, making him the first out gay professional football player. Clearly, your children are going to have some questions. We are here to help you.
