I don't know if you have any interest in continuing with this (or even remember it) but I'd love if you would continue that ask about Mark ( assassination nation) being your neighbour and seeing him again when you come back to visit your parents in your childhood home. I'd love to read about how their catch-up went and what their feelings are now, especially now that they're both all grown up too 😍 Obsessed with your writing and love you lots ❤️
This took me way too long to get to, and I’m so sorry! I suck at requests lately. I don’t know why you guys put up with me. I hope this is the drabble you were referring to!

You spotted Mark on the porch before he turned and noticed you. He lit up, waving at you with a smile so big you had to return one.
How did he get so handsome? You wondered this as he stepped off the porch and crossed the lawn over to yours.
"She emerges," he said.
"I've been here longer than you have, I think. When did you get back?"
"Last night, when I saw you through the window."
"I've already been here for two whole days... And I definitely don't want to tear my hair out," you giggled.
"You mean, you don't like your parents nagging at you again? Like old times? The constant questioning of your career choice and why you're still single?"
You blushed. Mark offered the information you craved since the night before when you saw him from your bedroom like when you were kids. You went to bed that night wondering if Mark was in a relationship or even married. It delighted you to hear he wasn't tied down.
"I'm used to the questions," you told him.
Cocking his head, you noticed the subtle differences in him. He had stubble on his neck and a bit of creasing around his eyes, but the same cheerful smile and adorably tousled brown hair that you fell in love with as a young girl. Now he was a man, and taller than he was in high school.
"Then I hope you don't mind me asking if you're seeing anybody?"
"No," you replied, fighting the flush in your cheeks. "I'm free as a bird."
That pleased him, and he bit his lip, savouring the good news for later on in the night when he offered to buy you a drink to catch up over. The signals were unmistakable, and you were under his spell in less than an hour of conversation. Mark kissed you after asking if it was okay and ran with it when you tilted your head and leaned in close.
"This was such good timing," he spoke against your lips, in between kisses when you both needed to catch your breath and perhaps tone down the heat. You were in public—a bar, but still, you weren't alone. "You know, as much as I'd like to earn the childhood-home-fuck badge, I think I'd like to take you to a hotel so I can do things to you that would disappoint our parents."
"Anywhere is better than wanting to jump your bones in a bar. I think that guy over there might be getting turned on by this."
"It's a deal then? We'll get a room for the night and continue this little reunion somewhere I can finally see you with your clothes off?"
"Oh, yes, please."
