Our hearts are broken to hear of the passing of musician, band leader, dancer, entertainer, great dipper, and all around good guy Mark Tortorici, who booked the music at Joe's in Burbank for some 10 years running. He gave so many musicians and dancers their first break, the L.A. scene would never be what it is today without him. The bucket 'o love is overflowing.

Song Diary Day Whatever: "Invader Zim Theme" by Mark Tortorici
This is a quick post from my phone, because I am away from my beast of a computer attending Invadercon 3! It's been a blast of a weekend so far, even taking into account the hours we spent waiting for autographs. It's a convention (and it may very well be the last one ever) about all things Invader Zim. Everyone has been really nice, AND I made some new friends! It's amazing what can happen when I actually leave tumblr for a brief period

This is a fantastic-looking gimmicky little thing. If you're into vinyl AND you loved the Nickelodeon show "Invader Zim" you're probably really psyched that this is a thing. I know I was!
While it looks fantastic there's not much music on it. It's essentially a 10" single with the show's theme melody on one side and a tune from one of the episodes as a b-side. It's not a whole lot of music and I must admit, that I'd hoped for the Doom Song to appear on this as well.
That being said, for fans of the show, this is cool gimmicky thing to have and there's always something oddly satisfying in listening to the theme song.
