When Mark had volunteered (or rather, BamBam volunteered Mark) to host the annual Christmas party for the seven friends, he thought it would be a piece of cake. He cooked food, and what he couldn’t make he bought, he decorated, and he cleaned up the place. Yes, even Jaebeoms socks he leaves lying around.
But he forgot one thing.
Ugly sweaters.
Yugyeom and Jackson would be disappointed. They are very strong advocates for every single Christmas tradition; the mistletoe, the presents, the Secret Santa, and most importantly, the ugly Christmas sweaters.
Thankfully, Mark’s wonderful boyfriend, Jaebeom, offered to go out and buy two ugly sweaters. Mark sent him on his way almost immediately, but Jaebeom still hasn’t returned. Right as Mark is about to call him, the front door opens to reveal the taller, thankfully.
“Babe! You’re back! Did you get the sweaters?” Mark asks, and Jaebeom holds up a plastic bag.
Mark grins and grabs it, opening to see two- “Jaebeom, I said UGLY Christmas sweaters, not cat sweaters, we can NOT wear these.” Mark holds up the fuzzy sweaters disappointedly.
Jaebeom just shrugs. “All the Christmas ones were out, and these are cute. We can tape craft paper Santa hats onto them or something.” He tries to snatch a marshmallow from the bag on the table but Mark is quicker and snatches it away.
“No marshmallows. You got the wrong kind of sweaters.” Jaebeom pouts, but the doorbell rings and the party has begun. As the other five start to pile into the house, Jaebeom pulls on one of the sweaters and sticks a Santa hat onto his head.
When Mark turns around, he does a double take. Jaebeom just looks so dorky, what the hell? The oldest laughs quietly, but then Yugyeom, the last guest, arrives and Mark is crushed into a hug.
The party is fun, Jackson berates Jaebeom and Mark for their choice of sweater, but he does agree that it’s very cute so they are let off the hook early. Nora gets out of the bedroom, and Youngjae and Yugyeom have to go home early (the latter giving the former a ride back to one of their homes where they’re undoubtedly going to fuck). Jinyoung forgot he’s a lightweight and Jackson had to haul his ass home to his partner who Jinyoung refuses to introduce to the others.
Only BamBam is left, and he smiles at the elders. “You know, you could have asked me for a couple Christmas sweaters. Yugyeom always gives me a few right before Christmas, and they’re always a few sizes too big.” Mark whips his head away from the sink where he’s washing dishes to stare at BamBam.
“You mean I had to wear the damned thing when I didn’t have to?”
“You said they were cute!”
“I said no such thing,” Mark pouts. “I wanted normal Christmas sweaters, not crappy cat ones!” Jaebeom glares, and BamBam starts to back away, hands raised.
“I’ll let you two juke it out.” Mark and Jaebeom are still glaring at each other when the younger leaves, but only God knows they both ended up under the mistletoe and under the sheets after that.

@selectivelysalty Then someone needs to create one asap so that the few of us (well, hopefully there are more of us out there than just a few, lmao) that do ship markbum can all join together and cry because you are 1000% right, markbum is, sadly, very underrated. ;__;
