The Cohort is one of the antagonists in LoS. And they want the LA Institute. But obviously 1) It’s too much like the Uprising so the Clave wouldn’t like it and 2) They wouldn’t just get the Institute because someone else is obviously running it. And now that Cassie is talking about who will die in LoS, I was wondering:
What if Arthur Blackthorn is somehow dead?
Technically Arthur is running the place. Never mind that The Cohort knows that he is a lunatic and try to tell that to the Clave. The Clave probably wouldn’t listen to them for obvious reasons. But what if he dies? They will have every reason to remove the Blackthorns from the Institute. It’s not like Mark and Helen are candidates for running it anyway (Helen is exiled, and Mark, though helping taking down Malcolm, isn’t exactly trusted by the Clave. And they both have faerie blood.). And Julian is technically not of age yet.
So basically that will make the Cohort’s job of taking over the Institute much easier. And that would be a big problem for Julian since his whole goal is to keep the family together. And that would also make the Cohort’s role in LoS much more significant when there are so many other enemies there that would outshine them. (Yeah I feel like out of the four major antagonists the Cohort is probably the least of their problems. They ought to have some kick)
Heck they may just try to take out Arthur themselves or something when they are this radical...
And statistically, almost half of the characters introduced in LM are Blackthorns and 4 people will die in LoS according to Cassie. At least one of these is probably a Blackthorn.
