i have to peer edit an essay for my ap lit class and how this kid made it through three years of high school and still thinks that you can submit assignments for your 12th grade ap classes in marker felt is something that i'll never understand

It is based on the Marker Felt font, it ships with Max OSX. Note however that the logo is based on the font, but hand-edited afterwards. This is what the font looks like without any changes:

For getting it to look the way mine does, download Inkscape and play around with the Tweak tool.
