And finally... the project we have been working on all semester. The movie within a movie, the documentary about how we tried but not quite succeeded in creating a stop-motion movie and all we've done and learned along the way.
Enjoy!

Ice Cream and Critique
Our Spring 2013 Animation class has come to an end. For our last session we went to Fresco on 2nd Ave for ice-cream but also to watch our completed project and discuss it. We had a lot of fun and we wish everyone an amazing summer.
And here it is! Our movie created today through the imagination and hard work of our K-2 class...
Update for the week of June 10th
School is coming to an end. We have one week of classes left, but work is almost done.
On Wednesday we put some finishing touches on our big movie project involving stop-motion. We will finally reveal the project next Wednesday on out YouTube page.
Today in our K-2 class at NEST we completed a two-class video project. Last week the kids wrote a story and filed all the material and today we edited it in iMovie.
Update for week of May 27th
So it seems the summer has already started and we have fewer and fewer weeks until the school year ends.
In our Wednesday Stop Motion Class things are heating up, as we edit our movie and do some last minute filming...
On Friday at NEST we learned about still lives and we set out to make some using window light and classroom toys...
Ooops. We apologize for not posting recently, but we were still hard at work with our classes.
Our Wednesday class continued to work on the movie, doing stop motion and creating all the additional content we need. Very soon we will be able to reveal some of t=what we have done.
At NEST on Friday we saw how a camera can create illusions using the principles of perspective. As you can see we had a lot of fun in the process.
Update for the week of April 29th
Last week in our Animation class we decided to leave the classroom and clear our heads and discuss the progress of our project and come up with new ideas and a plan for the next few classes. And what better way to do this than over gelato at Fresco on 2nd Ave.
And on Friday at nest we used the great photos of traffic signs we made the previous week to make a book about traffic and discuss this important topic.
Update for the Week of April 22nd
We continued our Wednesday stop-motion class with another productive and creative session filming more stop motion as well as documentary behind-the-scenes material.
In our K-2 group today we went on a photographic excursion in the Lower East Signs and photographed traffic signs. Our pairs shared a camera and everyone was on the lookout for stop signs and street names and traffic lights. The kids got to practice handling a camera and focusing on a specific assignment all the while learning about safety on the street.
