This is my long overdue jacket update. I have all the tapestries sewn on. I just need to do the collar piece, patches, and lures. It's taken forever, but I don't regret moving slowly, as I've had some updates on a few things for accuracy.

THE LOST BOYS MARKO JACKET DIY PART 1

If anyone is interested, I have a friend who has put together a video series explaining Marko’s jacket and what putting it together yourself entails. I’ve been moving slowly along on my own. I’ve assembled all the main tapestry patches and sewn them on, with the exception of the left sleeve. I thought about posting pic updates, but I think I’ll wait for now. Enjoy!

I'm glad to see you're still active! I was obsessed with the Lost Boys around 7 years ago and your blog was a huge comfort/source of inspiration for me. The obsession has recently flared up again for me and I immediately thought back to you. I was wondering if you had a Spotify playlist for the boys or were planning on making one?

Aww! I'm glad I could provide that for you and hope I can still, even if I'm not creating content like I used to. I love how, as fans, we can walk away from it for a while and then come back to it with as much love as we had before. I don't have a Spotify list for them; although it would be fun to create one, I don't think I'll have the time to make one in the foreseeable future. But it's tempting. I do hope to have some updated pictures of the Marko jacket I've been recreating here soon. It's sooo past due to be finished. LOL

It’s starting to look like something!! ❤️❤️❤️ I can’t say that it hasn’t been a little frustrating and nerve wracking because, let me tell you, cutting the tapestries correctly when you’ve only got one shot is scary stuff. I also had a little issue with one that I found a way around, and I’m thankful for that. Talk about stressing out, but I’m loving it now and having a good time putting it…

I got my medium size 40 black denim jacket in the mail today. The base of Marko’s jacket that I am painstakingly putting together with pained accuracy so that it is screen accurate. Which might end up killing me, but it’s worth it, and I am so excited. The correct version of this jacket is a hard to find, rare item these days and I will give credit completely to the person who nudged me in the right direction in order to find it. I am so incredibly thankful for their help in this project. Needless to say, I snuggled it as soon as I opened it. It has a Lost Boys smell to it already, and yet it looks so small!! I am in love. I have over half of the materials and I won’t be putting it together until I have collected all of it. All but one tapestry is original and a few of the patches are as well. This is a labor of love and I am in no hurry, because mark my words, it will be perfection!! At some point I’ll post photos.

There are three Marko ‘jacket’ tapestries up on ebay right now if anyone is looking for them. The Matador, The Peacock, and The Leopard. The Matador is a bit different version from the original but it would work for the arm piece and chest, and the leopard is supposed to have green footing. This one has blue, but if you’re not picky...
