Haven’t been posting in the pst few weeks because I’ve been a little busy with a presentation. Finally done with my lecture and can now go on with my life. 🤣 #markpaulpersonal https://www.instagram.com/p/CQis-JeBp06/?utm_medium=tumblr
Some posts about Ortho-K they i have been trying for our clinic. This approach kind of shows that children can play their sports wihtout eyeglasses or Contact lenses. Hopefully, we can raise awareness on Ortho-K’s Myopia Control effects. #markpaulpersonal • • • • • #eyewear #eyeglasses #frames #optical #glasses #optician #eyewearfashion #sunglasses #sunnies #style #shades #spectacles #optometrist #optometry #eyecare #fashion #eyes #vision #instafashion #design #accessories #stylish #occhiali #opticalshop #handmade #optic #eyewearshop #sunglassesfashion #eyewearstyle https://www.instagram.com/p/CQVWLrfBnOz/?utm_medium=tumblr
Off days are best spent with you.
It’s been 2 years since I fitted my first Ortho-K lens, and I think I’ve seen many of the possible troubleshooting needed with Orthokeratology lenses. Although effect is not as immediate as Refractive surgeries (ICL’s can give you a clear vision as soon as you go out the operating room 😅), i like the fact that the parameters of Orthokeratology lenses can easily be altered to further improve vision of the patient. Especially useful just in case there is regression after years of using an old prescription. Patient had an under-correcting lens, with residual -1.50 power. I simply needed to adjust parameters to make it closer to Plano. Current BCVA is 20/30, but happy patient. 😃 #markpaulpersonal #contactlens #orthokeratology #orthok (at Angeles City) https://www.instagram.com/p/CK-nKoUBgb1/?igshid=12bav2t0mr89h
1st day leadership class
Today is the start of our new class, a Call to leadership. At first I thought it would be an easy subject, all you got to do is walk inside the room, wait for the class to end, then go home. Then a few days ago, our prof posted to his blog (where we get our reading materials, by the way) the pdf’s and chapter of our books we needed to read, so I guess there will be sleepless nights after all.
But the discussions didn’t revolved around the reading materials, it focused mostly in our personal experiences. Each and one of us were asked about us and our idea of leadership.
My take on leadership, which I’m not sure if I was able to say all of it in from of the class is:
A leader is visionary who follows a very strong and meaningful principles that is geared towards achieving his/her goals. And for me, a leader should have mastered 2 things: 1st, a leader should know his/her strengths and weaknesses, and should be flexible enough to change. I shared to everyone my usual habit of reflecting everyday what I have accomplished days before. and often, I can’t seem to remember how many times I have said the phrase “It’s not working.. We should change it”
2nd, Interdependent. A leader should always show his love to his subordinates or boss. I remember a quote from the history books me and my eldest brother bought, it said “a man will not have himself killed with half pence a day or a petty distinction. You must speak to the soul in order to electrify him.” by Napoléon Bonaparte. I’ve always loved weekly huddle with my staff, I get to know their road blocks, achievements, problems, and at the same time mingle with them and know something about them on their personal life. I’ve read once in the book of Stephen Covey, the 7 habits of highly effective people that you can always pay someone’s hand, feet and back but you can never buy someone’s Heart and Brain, and those 2 are the most important thing a person has because “Heart” is where the Enthusiasm is and “Brain” is where creativity is. This was also the part where I told them the most challenging part of my life’s leadership, and that would be working with my parents, and people who are older/experienced than me. But to weigh the 2, working with family, especially parents, is the most difficult thing in Management.
Note: This was done without double checking my grammar and words, please excuse me if there are grammatically wrong phrases
Giving back to community
I think this is the first time I’ve attended an outreach program representing my Alma mater as an assigned clinical instructor for the students.
It was a very productive day. Me and the clinicians handled more than 50 patients that morning. And to top it all up, I was able to refer a child to RBI. (The child couldn’t read her books anymore because of her Hyperopia. And couldn’t afford a pair of spectacles because of poverty).
It feels good to hear the “thank you po” and see the sweet smiles of other people. I missed that kind of feeling.

Ambivalence
I think if there came a time that people you were really close to just seems to single you out, for the sake of an individuals’ company, it could be a good sign of a blessing.
God is always sure of what he wants for you, it could be a sign that they are not the people who you should be with, after all, I myself already had seen some hints of what they have been up to lately.
It’s brings me woe that things like these had to happen. It’s obvious from the beginning that personal relationships can be affected especially if there is rivalry, professionaly. But then again, I feel peace because of how I am being guided for what I think could be a good outcome.
in all else, for the greater glory of God.
