Ā Quoting the song of Sugarfree, āala ala ng lumuluhang kahapon, dahandahan ko na ring kinakahon...ā
Skyped with my best friend the other night, which made me realize a lot of things, most about me clinging to the past.. This will be my last post for this blog.
I canāt delete it because of so many memories posted here.
I was able to meet a lot of people thru this blog, both in the internet and personally.
And besides, I think itāll be cool to have an account that I can open years from now and just start laugh at myself.
Farewell.. for now, 52 ang butas ng skyflakes.
"And you're absolutely sure you'll that someday?" "Of course. Everybody does eventually... You just never know when or where."
1st day leadership class
Today is the start of our new class, a Call to leadership. At first I thought it would be an easy subject, all you got to do is walk inside the room, wait for the class to end, then go home. Then a few days ago, our prof posted to his blog (where we get our reading materials, by the way) the pdfās and chapter of our books we needed to read, so I guess there will be sleepless nights after all.Ā
But the discussions didnāt revolved around the reading materials, it focused mostly in our personal experiences. Each and one of us were asked about us and our idea of leadership.
My take on leadership, which Iām not sure if I was able to say all of it in from of the class is:Ā
A leader is visionary who follows a very strong and meaningful principles that is geared towards achieving his/her goals. And for me, a leader should have mastered 2 things: 1st, a leader should know his/her strengths and weaknesses, and should be flexible enough to change. I shared to everyone my usual habit of reflecting everyday what I have accomplished days before. and often, I canāt seem to remember how many times I have said the phraseĀ āItās not working.. We should change itā
2nd, Interdependent. A leader should always show his love to his subordinates or boss. I remember a quote from the history books me and my eldest brother bought, it saidĀ āa man will not have himself killed with half pence a day or a petty distinction. You must speak to the soul in order to electrify him.ā by Ā NapolĆ©on Bonaparte. Iāve always loved weekly huddle with my staff, I get to know their road blocks, achievements, problems, and at the same time mingle with them and know something about them on their personal life. Iāve read once in the book of Stephen Covey, the 7 habits of highly effective people that you can always pay someoneās hand, feet and back but you can never buy someoneās Heart and Brain, and those 2 are the most important thing a person has becauseĀ āHeartā is where the Enthusiasm is andĀ āBrainā is where creativity is. This was also the part where I told them the most challenging part of my lifeās leadership, and that would be working with my parents, and people who are older/experienced than me. But to weigh the 2, working with family, especially parents, is the most difficult thing in Management.
Note: This was done without double checking my grammar and words, please excuse me if there are grammatically wrong phrasesĀ

Giving back to community
I think this is the first time Iāve attended an outreach program representing my Alma mater as an assigned clinical instructor for the students.Ā
It was a very productive day. Me and the clinicians handled more than 50 patients that morning. And to top it all up, I was able to refer a child to RBI. (The child couldnāt read her books anymore because of her Hyperopia. And couldnāt afford a pair of spectacles because of poverty).Ā
It feels good to hear the āthank you poā and see the sweet smiles Ā of other people. I missed that kind of feeling.

1 last meeting for our Quantitative Analysis for Managers class. One last hoorah!
Ambivalence
I think if there came a time that people you were really close to just seems to single you out, for the sake of an individualsā company, it could be a good sign of a Ā blessing.Ā
God is always sure of what Ā he wants for you, it could be a sign that they are not the people who you should be with, after all, I myself already had seen some hints of what they have been up to lately.Ā
Itās brings me woe that things like these had to happen. Itās obvious from the beginning that personal relationships can be affected especially if there is rivalry, professionaly. But then again, I feel peace because of how I am being guided for what I think could be a good outcome.Ā

Havenāt posted anything in my wall lately because of how busy graduate school is. I mean, seriously, taking Managerial accounting then following it up with Quantitative analysis for Managers could really eat up a lot of your time. Thankfully, we only have one last meeting for our Quanti class, and itās about to end with a comprehensive exam.Ā
Anyhu, Some things that happened to me lately:
Was invited to attend Resources for the Blindsā training for Trainers, where Optometrists, Ophthalmologists, as well as Deans from colleges in the country were invited and the lecture was done by Dr. Karin Vandijk, same person who conducted the Advance low vision training. This was a privilege, and I loss count on how many times Iāve heard that I was one of the youngest trainer they have trained.
With Deans and other eye care practitioners.Ā
Mikko, a childhood friend of mine(elementary days) visited the country just a few weeks ago. He wasnāt able to tell us earlier because of his busy schedule. We had to celebrate his balikbayan-ness with this bad boy. ;)
It was great to reminisce our childhood days. I remember during our elementary days, I would always go to their house every weekend to play video games. From Super Nintendo, Sega, Playstation 1 up to Playstation 2. And inabutan namin yung WWF Warzone hanggang Smackdown! HAHAHAHA.(only 90ā²s wrestling fan kids will know ;) )
May was Nathansā (My Nephew/godson) birthday month. The theme was Justice League, and guess who he is.Ā
Food trip during my stay in Manila :D
MY 4 nights of staying there were all spent on eating outside. No regrets hehhe.
Some schoolmates of mine invited me to wakeboard here in clark. What a blessing that thereās a wakeboard park 15 minutes to where I work. hahaha. If youāll be wakeboarding in clark, feel free to invite me hahaha.Ā
And a lot more.. I missed doing this. hahaha.
Time to hit the sack . Good night world
