#sketchbook December 2021. @deadcombo is a group whose music I have enjoyed for quite some time, a Portuguese national treasure that should have gotten much more international exposure, even though they had already established collaborations with people like #MarkRibot and #MarkLanegan. The band that seemed both intrinsically Portuguese and completely beyond borders; fado, Nick Cave noir, Morricone western soundtracks, Hellbilly, chamber jazz, post rock, and whatever the hell else they decided to smash together into a coherent, dark and dangerous interior universe made great listening for the adventurous.
