his words were haunting , at least to her . for the time being , managed to shut her up . of course - there wasn't anything she could say in retort because she cared about steven , she cared about all of them : but steven ?? she could never get into a verbal argument with , considering that he's the one that makes her feel weak in the knees , her heart flutter as if they were the only two people in the world . not that marc &&. jake don't make her feel that way , but - there's a kindness when it comes to steven &&. his words , in fact . " it may not be my fault , but [ . . . ] i still feel like i shouldn't put you all in any danger , " huffs out , along with her head tilted to the side as she's giving him a light gaze , sucking in a breath . she knows that steven isn't like marc or jake , she knows that there's no arguing when he's around because he's the calm before the storm , the very least she can do is admit that to him , can't she ?? yet , marlene sucks in a breath , hues still rendering on steven as her hand reaches out for his own , wanting to feel some familiarity that isn't marc .
