New portal OC Marley & her core counterpart marigold!!!
Marley was an incredibly bright technician and had always loved robots, and it had always been a big dream for hers to work for aperture science. Once she finished her studies she began work as a receptionist despite being massively overqualified, but she enjoyed the work anyways
In particular, she had always had a fascination for GLaDOS during her time there and wanted to be able to have the opportunity to work with her one day, despite rumours of GLaDOS being violent & aggressive. One day, an opening came up for an experiment including GLaDOS and she happily signed up for it, not exactly looking too deep into what the experiment entailed. She ended up being tricked into having her consciousness implemented into one of their new cores in an attempt to divert GLaDOS’ anger, and any memories of her being a human were wiped.
Marigolds purpose was to distract GLaDOS by generating gossip about other scientists & robots etc & like most, this was only able to distract her for a short amount of time. Marigold was then repurposed to deal with the HR of the test subjects.
Despite the fact that Marley was never actually one to gossip during her time as a human, they still decided to turn her into the gossip core due to how easy it is for people to open up to her.
