Fluorite (also called Fluorspar) is the mineral form of calcium fluoride. It is a colourful mineral, and the stone has ornamental and lapidary uses. It is also used in the production of certain glass and enamels.
Pyrite, or Iron Pyrite, is an Iron Sulphide mineral. This mineral’s pale brass-yellow hue give it a superficial resemblance to gold, hence the well-known nickname of Fool’s Gold. It is the most common of the sulphide minerals.
Sphalerite is a mineral that is the chief ore of Zinc. It consists largely of zinc sulphide in crystalline form but almost always contains variable Iron. When iron content is high it is an opaque black variety, Marmatite.
