On 27-May 2012, Myself and my Groomsmen set out for the ultimate bachelor party. UDT-28 Op. Oscar Delta. Our 24-hour cycle consisted of the following: Hydration Average water consumption of 3 liters per day per person (3.78 liters equals 1 gallon). Zodiac F470 Operation Use of I/C valves, pressure gauge. Starting, stopping, steering. Forward, aft, bow, stern, port, starboard. Seamanship Stand on & give way vessel. Red, right, returning. Correct nighttime Vessel illumination. Campsite Secure necessary space. Build tents, off-load gear from Zodiac. Recon Conduct hydro reconnaissance for beach landing. Personnel count on island. Boat count. Threat detection. Determine N, S, E, W, on island for communications reference. Diver Navigation / Compass Reading Utilize Tac-100 swim board for surface swim navigation. Course (direction), heading (where bow is pointing), bearing (object navigating to). Underwater Knot Tying Square, Right angle, clove, bowline, 2 half hitches, taut-line hitch. Radio Communication Initiate radio 1 second before transmission, and hold for 1 second after. Correct terms; Roger, over, out, say again, disregard, standby. Dive Hand Signals Ok, out of air, surface, descend, pointing problem. Dive Mask Flooding Deliberate mask flooding. Also diving without the use of a mask utilizing the ascent & descent line only. Dive Technique Bend at waist, stick legs above. Descend as slow as necessary to avoid squeeze. Use ascent & descent line. Arms extended during poor visibility. Equalization Hold nose, blow against. Turn problem ear up towards surface if necessary. Boat Diving Prepare to mount the gunnel. Mount the gunnel. Divers sit on boat facing in with left hand on mask/reg and right hand on weight belt/gear. Prepare to enter the water. Divers look behind left and right. Enter the water. Divers lean back and fall directly in, surface and give OK. Standby diver will be suited up whenever divers are in the water. Swimmer Cast and Recovery Swimmers are dropped 25 yards apart no faster than 15 knots. Recovered by hooking left arm with C&R device by boat crew. Varying speeds & distances based on capability and safety. Short and long. Chemical lights Usage and attachment to snorkels, and dive float for night time observation by Cadre. Buddy Lines 6' length of rope connected with carabiners to D-ring on UDT shorts. Small loop in center of line with buoy attached for safety. 1 tug -- Okay 2 tugs -- Stop 3 tugs -- Surface Demo Placement Divers tow MK-133 aka Satchel Charge to detonation target, secure charge and get collected by Zodiac. Patrol Protect campsite from theft, and attack. Alert team if reinforcements are needed. Exfiltration Pack up campsite into Zodiac, head to shore.
