Fool Me Twice

Mariku didn’t say a word to his brother the entire ride there, and throughout the registration process. “Livid” wasn’t enough. He actually went through as many synonyms as he could think of the whole while to find one that remotely suited how he felt. Enraged. Infuriated. Seething. Apoplectic. Nothing fit.
He was adamant with his silence though, even while they were escorted with a small group to a cell and thrown in. Once the doors locked behind them, Mariku turned to finally glare to his twin, parting his lips and spitting with venom, “Kuss ummak.” The provocative cuss spewed from his mouth like a bitter taste, likely falling deaf to the ears unfamiliar to the foreign tongue.
“You really fucked it up, bastard,” he snarled at his brother, shoving him roughly by the shoulders, accent thicker but voice smoother, even with the vicious tone. “This is why they gave you away.”
