Saturdays were always a busy day in the Winchester-Gracehousehold.
After a day of attending various extracurricular activities(ballet for Alana, band practice for Bev, and swim lessons for baby Abigail)the dads were tired, but not tired enough to be done for a Saturday. Theyregrouped back at the house and Castiel prepared a picnic dinner. Sam drove them to the local park for some seriousplaytime on the new playground equipment until sundown. Swing time wassupervised by Sam (“Higher, Daddy!”) and skinned knees were soothed by Castiel(“Da, it huuurts!” “Next time be more careful jumping down, okay sweet pea?”).
Saturday nights were also designated movie night (Frozen wasplayed and consequently sung along to by the whole family, Abigail babblingalong). Bedtime was a surprisingly quiet affair. 10-year-old Beverly neededonly a kiss from each dad and she was off to read (she was deep in her HarryPotter phase; Sam was so proud). 7-year-old Alana requested another glass ofwater (she had four others in her room, Castiel made a mental note to clearthose out in the morning before any were spilled on the extensive stuffedanimal collection). Little Abigail was already out like a light (but she wasnot a sound sleeper for long, so Sam made sure the baby monitor was on).
Sam flopped down on their bed, face washed and hair pulledback, ready to sleep at least a couple of hours before Abi woke up crying. Casobserved his husband with a soft smile. Fatherhood suited him well. While itwas still quiet, he yawned and crawled up the bed, hiking Sam’s legs up aroundhis hips and kissing his minty-tasting mouth.
“Wanna…?”
“Mm, don’t start something you can’t finish,” Sam teased, kissing his husband back deeply.
“Shh, don’t wake anyone up,” Cas mumbled, nuzzling along Sam’sjaw and pressing kisses against his neck. Sam wrapped his arms around him, moving his hips against Castiel’s until Cas went still, snoring quietly intoSam’s ear.
Sam sighed and giggled to himself. He carefullypulled a blanket around the both of them, letting his husband’s warm weightlull him to sleep.
They would have plenty of time to try again tomorrow. Afterall, the girls were going to Uncle Dean’s for the whole day.
