“If you keep looking at me like that, we won’t make it to a bed.”
There was something about a good wedding that always managed to get Mason worked up, and after the war, there’s a lot of them.
He tugs gently on the lapels of Ethan’s suit under the glow of the chandelier. It's some beautifully elegant number Mason still has no idea how Ethan had managed to find. He looks good – better than good – and Mason knows it’s not just because he’s a little (a lot) biased.
All the beauty in the world and nothing came close to the man he gets to call his husband.
He draws Ethan close. Around them, the reception is in full swing. There's plenty of music and drinking and dancing and Mason had been having a far better time than he expected, although he knows a good part of that was on account of the man in front of him.
"Hey," he says quietly and he savors the shape of Ethan under his hands... and if Mason’s hands wander further over the lines of Ethan’s suit to cup his ass, no one notices. He pins Ethan with a look that brokers no argument. "Kiss me."
Ethan obliges thoroughly and without question and Mason admires the pale sheen across his lips when they draw apart. Need curls in his belly, just as it always does when Ethan touched him.
“If you keep looking at me like that," Ethan murmurs. "We won’t make it to a bed.”
“Who needs a bed?” Mason smirks and presses their hips together as he nuzzles into the side of his husband’s neck. “There’s a perfectly good cloakroom down the hall. Or dark gardens or an elevator or-“
“Or, I could just take you home. Our days of rushed quickies in dark corners are over now.”
Mason leans back, eyebrows high with disbelief. "What?"
Ethan holds it for less than a minute before his expression crumples and he laughs. Mason smiles in amusement, shaking his head. The relief is palpable.
“Oh, thank god. I thought you were going to imply we are getting too o-"
Ethan growls, cutting him off. “Don’t ever say that word."
It's Mason's turn to laugh. "Don't ever tell me our days of rushed quickies in the dark are over then. God. As if I could ever keep my hands off you."
He tugs Ethan back against him and Ethan finds his mouth again. The kiss starts sweet, but quickly builds and when they finally come up for air, Mason's breath feels short.
"Now," Ethan grasps his hand. "What was that you were saying about a cloakroom?"
