What is the difference between Marshall 800, 900 and 2000? I think 800 sounds awesome, 2000 decent and 900 blegh. But what are the actual differences
Three distinct circuits, man. 900 was based loosely off the 800, but with much higher gain (they came out I believe in 1990 when there was demand for shred), and the 2000s are multi-channel "modern" amps that don't really excel at any particular thing haha
For the gentlemen asking about which would be the best head for djent, i have had experince with the v3 and i own the marshal jcm2000. It really depends on what kindve djent tone you want, if you wanna go for something little less gainy where the guitar body speaks for itself id go with the marshall. Otherwise, for a more high gain kindve tone the v3 does an excellent job.
That's a good way of putting it. I just find that of the three, the JCM2000 is the least menacing. Not unusable though.
