603 North Kalamazoo Avenue was built in 1869 for clothier Fredrick Karstaedt. It sits atop the highest point in Marshall. That same year, the home was purchased by Civil War captain Deville Hubbard. Hubbard added the front veranda at a cost of $1,300. The most famous residence is Marshall native, writer William Wallace Cook, famous for his dime novels in the early 20th century. The current owners, Sarah & Karl Loomis, moved into the home in 1983 and has undertaken extensive renovations during that timespan. #MarshallMI #CalhounCounty #Italianate #VictorianArchitecture #archi_ologie #oldhouselove #casasecasarios #houses_ofthe_world #beautifulhouseoldandnew #TheAmericanHome #PureMichigan #PureMittigan #ChooseMarshall #ThisPlaceMatters #MichiganPlacesMatter #NationalHistoricLandmark #NikonD3400 #NikonNoFilter (at Marshall, Michigan) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bp4aJ0-gWwn/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=j12l98wukly4
