i had a friend tell me how much he loved me the other day "Didi i just love your spirit, you're for female empowerment AND the LGBTQIA community, i'm for it" and my response was "No, IM inspired by YOU and those who live freely and fearlessly like you do." i've always admired those of different sexualities and genders especially when they live their life's unashamed and unafraid, that is truly inspiring to me as a young Black woman in a society that also shames Black women for existing. i also remember a time a guy i was dating questioned "Why do gay couples look so happy together?" and although confused by such a mediocre question, my response was "because they ARE happy together, they can truly be themselves around each other. that's what love is." me and that guy aren't together anymore btw but #happypridemonth 🌈 you are truly beautiful the way you are; thanks to the pioneers who not only paved the road but started the movement #marshapayitnomindjohnson #SylviaRivera #blacklivesmatter #sayhername #pridemonthstartedasariot #love
