With the Trump regime's erasure of trans people from the Stonewall National Monument, it's a good time to listen to some truth from revolutionary Stonewall veterans Sylvia Rivera and Marsha P. Johnson.

Some #PRIDE posts I've come across already 🏳️🌈💖 #pridemonth #lgbt #marshapjohnson #sesamestreet #spicegirls #memes
Marsha P. Johnson was an American gay liberation activist and self-identified drag queen, known as an outspoken advocate for gay rights, she was a mother figure to many young LGBTQIA+ people in her community — especially those experiencing homelessness.

On July 6, 1992, Marsha’s body was found in the Hudson River off the West Village Piers. The police determined she had committed suicide despite adamant claims from her friends and community members that she was not suicidal.

New Moon In Aries Conjure Collage featuring Marsha pay It No Mind Johnson
The P stands for “Pay them no mind!” 🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈 Gay white men: you owe your freedom to Marsha P. Johnson. Without her and Sylvia Rivera, we would not be living as openly and loudly as we do today. Remember, the first Pride was a riot and a protest against the very same police brutality we rage against today. So much has changed for white gay men because women and transgender women of color died for it; sex workers, drag queens, the people whom society deems least worthy of love and dignity. And while much has changed for us, virtually nothing has changed for them. We cannot all be equal until we are ALL treated with love and respect. And we cannot get there until #blacklivesmatter #transblacklivesmatter #translivesmatter #pride #lgbtq🌈 #queerart #marshapjohnson https://www.instagram.com/p/CBGyn74haYH/?igshid=1tg5j9yx7zcz7
I respect Marsha for being a gender non-conforming gay black dude in that era and a pioneering GAY liberation activist. (S)he (? not sure which to use) prostituted herself to pay rent for a home for lgbt kids on the street. From what I read, “Marsha” also went by his birth name “Malcolm” and wasn’t fazed by male pronouns. She was from Elizabeth, a city in New Jersey that’s near where I’m from and in my county! Dude was so much more than a “‘tranzwimminz of culah’ who threw bricks at cops”, shame how genderists have posthumously transed him and co-opted his entire brand. Also, remember that Stonewall wasn’t the start of the gay rights movement, gay and lesbian activists and orgs had been putting in work for decades prior. . #feminist #feminism #feministmemes #radfem #terf #swerf #self #libfem #radfemmemes #gendercritical #marshapjohnson #gendercriticalfeminism #pridemonth #radicalfeminism #radicalfeminist #liberalfeminism #liberalfeminist #intersectionalfeminism #intersectionalfeminist #blackfeminist #blackfeminism #stonewall #secondwavefeminism #secondwavefeminist #womanist #womanism # https://www.instagram.com/p/CA7W1U_BjkK/?igshid=1a4da0h9q2mqb
