LAUGHS LIKE A MAD MAN

You guys have no idea how much this silly selfship means to me. I personally don't do any visual justice to anything I got cooking up in my noggin but yk? I decided to shake off the fear of being judged for this ship.

If you want to know, this ship name is called "Marshger" or if you want "Metalger." To easily figure out when it's shipart or not is when Roger has horns. Otherwise my sona is next to him!!

I am the first person to draw the godforsaken Berlin Jacket from 1990 (to the best of my ability with all the shitty refs I had to use) Am I cool yet? would you tell the lore of this story about Metal bonded with Roger? and how it can affect his physical change on his body?

WOOO BOY you're gonna have to sit down for this one. its ABUNDANTLY DEVLOPED. that's for sure. Anyway!

Basically, we need to start off with the concept first... so!

The beginning of new lives in a dimension far different from ours...

The whole concept to begin with is basically a inexplicable connection between Roger and Marshall. They were once in unison in a different form of life many many years ago. But due to a cosmic disturbance their "star" separated. and they went on to live different lives.

Marshall is a being of dark corners. "darkness", the unknown, imagination of your greatest fears almost. (not that cornball stuff.) and ofc.. years ago.. in a previous life. Roger was a being of light. he was the same thing Marshall was before...before he was rebirthed into a human for cruel, unusual punishment.

(Homeworld is brutal to put it lightly.)

And to note, Marshall was once a beam of light as well until he ALSO was punished. this is just a carbon copy of my metaphor of being closeted. but yeah, Marshall wanted to rip the chains of being a gear in a machine that was that dimension's cruel world. I cant even begin to describe what the conditions were there.

Anyway, time passed. Marshall for years up until roger was a teenager (Marshall was also around this mental age. since he doesn't really age.) he stumbled upon the pocket dimension of earth. In this case it was just Rogers room. it was late at night. and Marshall hid in a corner. almost waking up roger in the process.

the rest is history .(Work in progress kinda?? still need to work out some details to make it coherent.)

"Physical alterations"

Alot of the physical alterations that occur in his body are usually really small if they both are calm. Marshall in this case would use Horns. (either physical where they actually DO grow out. Or ones you cannot touch but see.) Alot of the normal changes to him are mutually agreed on. unless we are talking about extreme emotionally charged stuff.

in that case, it was not agreed on and both are in absolute pain and stress during these "transformations." like the examples above. his face can look more beastly like, elongated body, a tail sometimes? SPINES. razor sharp teeth.... not a very pleasant experience for either party because this only ever happens when they are having a meltdown. And due to the stress they become more feral in behavior.

(he has lashed out on the band members physically a handful of times. That was mostly thier fault for being in the way at the worst time. because when they get like this they usually hide away in a dark corner to settle down and dont want to hurt anyone. most of it is just him screaming and hissing at them.)

we don't talk about the wall and final cut incidents...

As for the other stuff that is more designs based on the state of mind! like that one with fire on top of his head. that is a state of mind piece. a sort of "meditation" if that makes sense. but yeah the non violent ones are Marshall's doing because he treats roger like a canvas sometimes in a loving way! he has a funny way of showing love!
