Indulge in the delightful combination of rich brown sugar marshmallows with the added crunch and sweetness of milk chocolate flakes. These homemade marshmallows are perfect for snacking, hot chocolate, or as a sweet treat anytime.
Instructions: Heat 1/4 cup water, brown sugar, and corn syrup in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir the mixture until a candy thermometer registers 240F 115C. In a mixing bowl, sprinkle the gelatin over 1/2 cup of cold water while the sugar mixture is heating. Give it a good five minutes to bloom. Stirring continuously, gradually pour the sugar mixture into the gelatin mixture once it reaches the proper temperature. Beat the mixture on high speed for 10 to 12 minutes, or until it becomes thick and fluffy, using an electric mixer. In the final minute of mixing, add the vanilla extract. Mix the cornstarch and powdered sugar together in a different bowl. Make sure to completely coat the sides and bottom of a 9x9-inch 23x23 cm baking pan by dusting it with a generous amount of the sugar-cornstarch mixture. Evenly distribute the marshmallow mixture after pouring it into the pan. Over the marshmallow mixture, scatter the milk chocolate flakes. Give the marshmallows four hours or overnight to set. After the marshmallows have set, cut them into the desired shapes with a knife or cookie cutters. To keep them from sticking, dust each marshmallow with the leftover sugar-cornstarch mixture. Savor your homemade marshmallows with milk chocolate flakes and brown sugar!
