22:Where would you bury hidden treasure if you had some?
Well, if you have treasure and you want to bury it to hide it, you want to make sure that it’s in a place that no one will ever find.
So that being said, I’d bury my treasure in the “Adam Sandler DVDs” section of a video store.
No one will ever look there.
34:Favorite kind of sandwich?
Easy one. EASY.
My favorite sandwich (Imma just give the actual Subway order here): Subway Melt - which is ham, turkey, and bacon - on Italian herb and cheese bread, with cheddar cheese, toasted, with spinach, olives, tomato, and parmesan cheese.
Mmm mmm good.
66:Cheetos Or Fritos?
Cheetos over regular Fritos or Fritos Scoops, but Chili Cheese Fritos over Cheetos.
I am so sorry this has taken me so long to get to! Consider this part one of this story and I’m working on part two! Hope you enjoy. :)
The Layover
“Well, folks, welcome to Terminal 2 of the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport. Hopefully the snowstorm out east will clear up soon and we can get back underway to our final destination of New York City. For now, please gather your belongings, exit the plane, and keep your ears open for announcements about our flight. Enjoy your time here in Minneapolis.”
As the tinny voice of the pilot cuts off, Logan sighs and pulls his messenger bag out from under the seat in front of him. Oh yes, he thinks to himself, I’ll be sure to enjoy being diverted to a overcrowded airport during the holidays and sitting around on my ass until we can get the hell out of here.
Logan shoves his book into the bag before standing up. He pops open the overhead compartment and yanks his suitcase out. His seat is in first class so he’s off the plane quickly. He strides down the jetway and into the terminal. As he walks past the rows of chairs, he vaguely registers a voice behind him calling out.
“Hey!”
Logan keeps walking and looks around the terminal
“Come on, slow down. Just how long are your legs?”
Logan ignores the voice behind him as he realizes how small the terminal is. Even the smallest of airports has a bar, right? He’s just spotted something promising when he hears the voice again.
“Logan Echolls!”
The sound of his name stops Logan in his tracks. He’s about to turn when someone crashes into him from behind.
“Shit!” the voice cries out from right behind him.
Logan turns to find an attractive blonde woman sprawled on the floor behind him. He quickly bends to offer her his hand.
“God, sorry about that. You all right?” he asks. As he takes her hand, Logan tries not to jump at the electric thrill that the touch generates. He sees her give a slight start and wonders if she felt it too. He pulls her to her feet and just stares at her for a moment. Gorgeous, he thinks to himself. Her blonde hair falls in soft waves around her shoulders. Her blue eyes are bright and intelligent. She’s wearing a pair of fitted dark jeans and a faded Stanford hoodie. Logan grins as he realizes she can’t be much more than 5 feet tall. She, however, is clearly not amused and glowers at him as she tugs her hand free of his.
“Yeah, I’m fine,” she replies as she straightens her hoodie and brushes off the back of her jeans.
“You sure? Maybe I should buy you a drink and make it up to you?” Logan gives her his most charming grin. She responds with an exaggerated eye roll.
“Yeah. I don’t think that’ll be necessary. You could, however, give me my bag back.”
“Your bag?”
She nods at the small black roller case next to him.
“This is my bag,” Logan says placing his hand on the extended handle.
“It’s really not. This is yours,” the woman says and rolls an almost identical black bag towards him.
Logan bends to look at the bag he’d taken off the plane and grabs the luggage tag. Instead of the simple leather tag that adorns his suitcase, he finds a laminated piece of paper featuring the face of happy panting pit bull and the words Backup off my stuff! across the bottom the tag. Logan grins at the image and flips the tag over to find a name.
“Veronica Mars?” He looks up at the woman.
“The one and only,” Veronica says, “and you must be Logan Echolls.”
“I am. Sorry about that. I definitely owe you a drink now. Although,” he grins as he looks her up and down, “it’s probably a good thing I grabbed it. Would you have even been able to get it out of the overhead compartment yourself?”
She gives him a flat look. “Short jokes, seriously?”
“I’m just batting a thousand tonight, aren’t I?”
“More like striking out. Can I have my suitcase, please?”
Logan rolls Veronica’s suitcase to her and accepts his own from her.
“Thank you. Well, have a happy new year, Logan.” Veronica shoulders her backpack, grabs the handle of her suitcase, and begins to walk away.
Logan watches her leave, his mind racing as he tries to think of something, anything, to stop this woman from disappearing into the crowd.
“You’re really not going to explain that luggage tag?” Logan calls after her, praying she can’t hear the hint of desperation in his voice. He watches as she slowly turns to look at him. Her eyes are narrowed, but there’s a hint of a smile on her lips.
Logan weaves through the crowd until he’s standing beside her. He catches a faint whiff of a sweet-smelling perfume.
“It’s really not that interesting of a story,” Veronica says as she tilts her head back to look up at him.
“Oh, come on. I don’t believe that. You can tell me about it over a drink. I really do owe you one for stealing your bag and knocking you down.”
Veronica’s head cocks to one side as she considers him closely. Logan’s not sure what she’s looking for and his mouth grows dry as he wait for her response.
After several long moments, Veronica finally says, “How about coffee instead of a drink?”
Logan can’t hide the broad grin that spreads across his face. “Coffee works for me.”
22: are you a morning person? Only by necessity. I work from home and start at 6:00 a.m. But I adore sleeping in and I daydream all week about the glory that is Saturday mornings and not getting out of bed until 8:00 a.m., which is about as late as my body will let me sleep since it’s used to getting up at 5:45 a.m. every day.
40: think of a piece of jewelry you own: what’s it’s story? does it have any meaning to you? I don’t wear a lot of jewelry, but I do have a necklace my parents gave me that I love. It’s a silver necklace with a teardrop-shaped pendant with a tiny diamond in it. It was actually a replacement for a Christmas gift they gave me. Christmas morning I opened up a tiny jewelry box and found a necklace with a flip-flip pendant on it….and I started bawling. Full on sobbing. Now, in my defense, I was PMS-ing big time, but I still felt so guilty for crying. It was cute necklace, but it felt immature and then I felt like they thought I was immature and it was a whole thing. Eventually, we returned the flip-flop and they let me pick out a necklace for myself. My parents were so kind and understanding and I just love the heck out of them. :)
HAHAHA! The fields totally autofilled from the last time! So excited you're doing this again! You're the best!
i’m sending out all the postcards next week. let me tell you, though, finding postcards in disneyland ended up being this absurdly difficult task. you could buy a book of postcards that only had pictures of rides, a book of postcards that only had pictures of mickey, minnie, goofy, and that gang, or there were literally four other individual postcards you could purchase.
nary a postcard w/ a disney princess in sight. and forget about trying to find the requested (by my 38 year old brother) mary poppins mug.
anyway! some of the postcards have sparkles. so that’s cool.
