Slambam=mountain, sound, is the weapon-based #Hindu Martial Art that influenced many fighting systems in Southeast Asia. The soldiers of Kings Puli Thevar, Veerapandiya Kattabomman and Maruthu Pandiyar (1760–1799) used Silambam prowess against the British Army, who banned it & introduced modern western military training. The ban was lifted after independence. Silambam is the most famous and widely practiced Martial art in Malaysia.
