150 years ago today, the steamship ‘Hermann’ docked in NYC, carrying the very first shipment of Martini and Rossi vermouth from Pessione in Italy. Since that day, Martini has become an indispensable part of American cocktail culture, used by bartenders to mix delicious cocktails and aperitivo drinks. I call this one a "Sbagliato Rosato": equal parts Martini Bianco vermouth, bianco bitter and Martini Royale Rosato. Stirred with just a few drops of rose water and finished with a grapefruit zest.
