Palazzo Berlendis, Venezia Fondamenta Nove, prospiciente sul rio dei Mendicanti, immortalato da Canaletto e Guardi, è noto per esser stata la dimora veneziana di Friedrich Nietzsche.
In questo volume vengono ricostruite per la prima volta le vicende relative a storia, architettura e decorazioni. Vi si conserva la rara alcova lignea settecentesca, detta “di Nietzsche”, oltre a stucchi, porte dipinte, affreschi.
Fra Otto e Novecento fu “casa d’artista” del fotografo Tomaso Filippi e quindi dello scultore Napoleone Martinuzzi, che vi ha lasciato testimonianze preziose nell’arte del vetro.
Con il presente volume ha inizio la nuova collana “Dimore”, un punto di riferimento bene acceso su studi dedicati a edifici ‘minori’ o poco conosciuti.
Il primo volume è Palazzo Berlendis alle Fondamenta Nove, A Venezia, un libro voluto anche dal suo proprietario, scomparso, purtroppo, all’uscita del volume, a 95 anni.
