Valentine’s || thescarletwitchie
Normally on a Valentine’s Day like this, she wouldn’t be out. No date, no Valentine. Just an armload of junkfood and sappy rom coms to keep her company. She was done with that though. There had been too much of that lately.
Instead she was dressed to the nines in a little, red dress. Her hair and make up were done perfectly for the first time in months. Ignoring the double takes or sad glances that came her way, she sipped her champagne, seated alone in some fancy restaurant. She wasn’t really alone though. At least it didn’t feel like it. Cory had been her Valentine for so long, whether she knew it or not, and tonight was no exception.
Flipping through the pages of a photo album she had put together, she smiled through her tears. Back when they were kids, clear up into adulthood, they had loved each other dearly. It was amazing to see the two of them smiling and happy. Finding a smile through her tears, that hole that had been in her heart hurt just a little less.
“Happy Valentine’s day.” She murmured, “I wish you were here.”

SEND 💞 AND MY MUSE WILL TELL YOU ABOUT A PREVIOUS LOVE.It can be romantic, platonic, sexual, familial, any type of love.
“Oh boy… A previous love. I’ve had several, but the one that’s most prevalent would probably be Grayson’s father, Cornelius. He and I were childhood friends, and we were attached at the hip all through our school years. What I didn’t know at the time was that he was so head-over-heels in love with me all that time.
I guess I’d always loved him too, but it took time to evolve into something more than just best friends. He stuck by me through my worst days, and my best. I really thought that when we had Grayson, that it would finally be just us against the world. I guess fate had other plans.
Now he’s god knows where, beyond the stars, fighting a war for a home he never knew. I don’t know if I’ll ever see him again.”
