Currently we’re in the third week of filming for episode 2.
I love your pieces on comparing Hannibal to different directors. Eventhough I am a fan of them, mostly De Palma and Cronenberg, I never made the connections. I know they have said that some of the cinematography in Hannibal was based on Kubrick's work. I could definitely see that right away. Your comparisons are fabulous!

Hannibal has some influences from Cronenberg, Lynch, De Palma, Kubrick and Argento; and it has some influences from Bergman too.

Yeah, that picture with him and all his organs/boards gives me a Victorian crisis. I've always been enamoured with sound of an organ or electric pianos. I used to date a guy who made me drive around town to find a Rhodes electric piano. Then there's the Moog... And I always enjoy sporting my "I'm In the Moog For Love" shirt. Something about those boards and organs that were built out of wood and yet had electronics happening inside is beautiful. I'm a sucker for them. You can't duplicate that sound any other way.
