Finally made it down to @marylhurstuniversity for the annual Northwest Handmade Musical Instrument Exhibit today. It's totally worth the $3 admissions to see the work from all the amazing, talented luthiers, violin makers, banjo makers, harp makers from around the region, as well as check out some unusual historical instruments on display. Northwest Colleges and Universities: Marylhurst College, Oregon.

Unique in Oregon as a Roman Catholic women’s college, Marylhurst did not begin operations as such until 1930. This image seems to be of one of the older buildings on the campus and was the only older image I could find.

ART IS FOR EVERYONE

Hey Everyone! I am really excited today.  I just figured out a way to stop losing track of my peeps.  

You see....I have this problem.  I keep moving.  I keep meeting all these great people, having art classes with great folks who I adore and want to stay in touch with, and then BOOM.  I transfer to another school.  First it was PCC, then Marylhurst, now it's EOU.  

I am cold and lonely.  I keep leaving behind all my neat new artsy friends.  

So, in response to this need, I have created a free facebook page called:

ART IS FOR EVERYONE

and I want  you to join.  I really do.  I miss seeing what everyone else is doing.  I miss talking about whatever is driving our need to make marks.  I miss seeing the brilliant, wonderful work that other students do.  I miss my PEOPLE.

So please, join in.  Post photos of whatever you are doing.  I am too far away to see it in person.  I don't care if you are drawing stick figures, or painting like Picasso.  Let's hang out! Let's share the love!
