it's funny bc since I am kin w/ lugi I also get kin feels real hard for Mr L but the thing is I am like the opposite of him except in that I make words up and also I'm a dork who talks a lot and likes to mock-insult their friends I bet Mr. L is Luigi's cool online self like you know how you kinda have a different personality online bc you don't have to hold yourself back? bc p much nobody's gonna judge u for usin the fuck word or bein nonbinary if u hang out in the right places yeah I'm like 5000% cooler online than I am irl so what if Mr. L was basically Luigi's online persona
Does anyone wanna try and dub the first minion counsel cutscene in SPM w/ me? I think I could do Mimi, Nastasia, or possibly Dimentio, but if anyone else wants to do one of them, I’d be happy to let you!
Theory: Bowser is his first name, Koopa is his last name (just like with Peach Toadstool) Mario and Co. at first referred to Bowser as King Koopa bc that was just the proper way, it seemed appropriate But then over the years they got comfortable enough to be on a first name basis Further evidencing that Bowser is nothing but a huge dorky dork who just kidnaps Peach out of routine and for fun at this point, not to hurt her And basically Mario, Bowser, and Peach are all dorks who have this constant game going to keep things from getting dull Gosh these doofuses I love them
I like to call this little number “Emmet finally for once in their life uses a brush that’s not the ink pen on full density oh my god the world’s ending”
Basically me playing around with the crayon pen and shit in SAI... Not exactly thrilled with how this came out, but not upset about it either. Kinda neutral on it haha. Need to figure out a good way to shade and all that jazz.... I need to get lessons or something lmao!! xD I like textured shading, but I can’t pull it off worth crap!!
So, on Kotaku, Shigeru Miyamoto was quoted as saying (in reference to the Koopalings’ status as Bowser’s children): “Our current story is that the seven Koopalings are not Bowser's children. Bowser's only child is Bowser Jr., and we do not know who the mother is.”
So, why then, in the 80′s cartoon series (SMB3, Super Mario World), did the Koopalings refer to Bowser (then known as King Koopa) as “King Dad”?
I’ve got a headcanon. It’s, uh, a bit of a stretch, but... bear with me. Humor me, if you will.
So, the Koopas originate from Dark Land. This much we know, from the talk of the Koopalings from the TV show. And, they’ve mentioned that Bowser has ancestors, so it’s assumed that other Koopas exist in the Mario universe. However, we haven’t ever seen any other Koopas aside from Bowser/King Koopa, the Koopalings, and Bowser Jr. So what gives? Where are the other Koopas?
My headcanon is that Dark Land was once a heavily populated area, inhabited by numerous Greater Koopas (evolved to be bigger and more deadly than normal Koopa Troopa enemies). However, due to land development in the Mushroom Kingdom, a lava spring was dammed in the wrong place and Dark Land flooded. All was lost, save for Bowser and Kamek.
While searching for any survivors, Bowser found a nest of unhatched eggs tucked away in a small alcove that was miraculously spared by the lava flow. Shocked and cautiously optimistic, he took the nest of nine eggs back to his castle, desperate to save any possible remnants of the Greater Koopa race. Against the odds, the eggs eventually hatched into the Koopas we now know as the Koopalings.
Despite the fact that they were obviously not his own children, Bowser took the Koopalings under his wing, raising them as his own. Angered by the loss of not only all his subjects but the near-extinction of his entire race, Bowser swore to take revenge on the Mushroom Kingdom, and ultimately, on the ruler that caused the tragedy.
Unfortunately, Kamek, as a more old-fashioned royal advisor, didn’t see any of the Koopalings as a suitable heir to the throne. Since there were no longer any female adult Greater Koopas to speak of, Kamek decided to use his magic to create a suitable heir to the throne by impregnating Bowser with his own clone. (Thus explaining why Bowser Jr. is identical to his father as a child.) Bowser had no idea what Kamek had done until one day, he woke up in an immense amount of pain, and eventually laid an egg containing what would eventually be Bowser Jr.
Bowser would’ve loved to get rid of Kamek at that point, but that damned Magikoopa was all that Bowser had left of his old life. He had become extremely reliant on Kamek, as much as he hated to admit it, so Bowser couldn’t stand to get rid of him at the risk of losing the last remnant of his past.
Soooo... that’s why the Koopalings aren’t technically Bowser’s real kids, nor the heirs to the throne. I dunno why I thought of this tonight, but... yep!
